Highropes Twiske
At the beginning of 2020, we built a climbing park in the Twiske recreational area, close to Amsterdam. The park features 2 towers, 2 big zips, a free fall and more than 80 obstacles.
Review
Twiske Climbing Park is a gift to the recreation area and to everyone who has visited the largest climbing park in North Holland. The park was built by Bouw het Avontuur, led by Walter Bisselink and his team.
Construction took place from March 15, 2020, to August 1, with occasional mandatory breaks due to the coronavirus pandemic and all the new regulations regarding environmental permits. It took four and a half months, and then the grand opening was held, which brought a huge crowd.
With many enthusiastic employees and a strong core team, we focused primarily on expanding and improving the flow of traffic within the park. We now have a climbing park with 88 obstacles on three levels of 4, 8, and 12 meters, and a children's course at a height of 1 meter for the littlest ones. Two 125-meter ziplines offer a fantastic experience for everyone.
The entrance and the square at the starting tower have been given a great atmosphere by all kinds of functional decorations such as hammocks, picnic sets and a lounge area.
Before construction began, we worked as a team to ensure the permits and other documentation were ready for the project. During construction, commitment, safety, and teamwork were essential. We maintained clear agreements and adhered to the planned construction period as closely as possible.
We've benefited greatly from the experience of our partner, Bouw het Avontuur, in tackling not only the construction itself but also the training and training, as well as any minor issues that arise during the initial launch, as quickly as possible. After three years of experience with many excellent instructors and a fantastic partnership with Bouw het Avontuur, we've welcomed over 60,000 visitors to date.
Expansion of our park is now definitely necessary, with more activities on the grounds. This has led to the construction of pétanque courts and an 18-hole mini-golf course.
